Dr Abdurahman El-Awa

Abdurahman has a completed a five-year UK advanced specialist training in Oral Surgery at Sheffield University Teaching Hospitals, one of Europe's most reputable Oral Surgery units.

He has extensive experience in all aspects of oral surgery, and a special interest in dental implants, bone grafting and dental surgery procedures, as well as providing sedation for nervous dental patients.

Abdurahman originally qualified in 2003 in Cairo and moved to the UK in 2006 in pursuit of higher specialist training in oral surgery. Since then he has trained in Glasgow, at the Dental School and Southern General Hospitals, Sheffield Dental School, Sheffield University Hospitals and Royal Derby Hospitals head and neck surgery units, gaining experience and training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Abdurahman has worked as a Consultant in Oral Surgery at Manchester Teaching Hospitals and is currently a Consultant and Senior Clinical Lecturer in Oral Surgery at University of Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry.

He is also a member of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England, where he examines newly-qualified specialist surgeons. At Sheffield University, he teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate dental students. Outside the world of dentistry, Abdurahman enjoys running, diving and fishing.
